The words “I now pronounce you husband and wife” were music to Tommy Heath’s ears on June 9, 2008 as the singer, who rose to the top of the Billboard charts with his band Tommy Tutone in the ’80’s with the hit “867-5309/Jenny,” was united in matrimony with Lisa Scholtz. A romantic getaway to Lake Tahoe, California prompted the pair to turn their three-year romance into a lifetime of love, People magazine online revealed.
Currently celebrating their 50th year in business, the Chapel of the Bells–deemed the area’s best wedding chapel by the Tahoe Daily Tribune– welcomed the happy couple and their witnesses for the spontaneous ceremony.
