61208: Reader Mail: Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter’s 2003 Wedding Details

Brides-to-be often turn to celebrities for “I do” inspiration. We recently received a letter from a reader hoping to add a little of the glamour seen in the wedding of The Bachelorette Trista Sutter (previously Trista Rehn) to her own special day.

Q: I recently watched a rebroadcast of The Bachelorette, culminating with the wedding of Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter. Although I had seen the wedding when it aired years ago, I had forgotten just how beautiful the ceremony was! Do you know any of the vendors Trista and Ryan used?

Dallas, Texas

A: At a cost of $4 million dollars, Trista and Ryan enjoyed one of the most lavish ceremonies in TV history. Following are a few of the vendors who helped to turn the bride’s dream “I do” at the Lodge at Rancho Mirage in Palm Springs Valley, California into reality on December 6, 2003:

Guests attending the ceremony had received wedding invitations crafted by Lehr & Black, the L.A.-based company which has also created wedding invitations for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale and Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, among others. The Bachelorette’s announcement was displayed on off-white silk dupioni embroidered with the couple’s monograms. Lehr & Black would also supply elegant wedding program fans, the pink and white layers tied together with a dainty bow in the bride’s signature color.

Donning a pair of diamond-studded Stuart Weitzman shoes, the bride walked toward her groom down a path paved by a hand-painted aisle runner from The Original Runner Co., since recently marked the way for Ashlee Simpson as she walked down the aisle toward Pete Wentz. (Read Lovetripper’s exclusive interview with Julie Goldman, the owner of The Original Runner Co., for tips on making your aisle unique.)

Liv Tyler, Mariah Carey and Sarah Jessica Parker are just a few of the famous faces that have been picture perfect on the cover of magazines thanks to cosmetics by Laura Mercier, whose products added an extra glow to Trista’s beaming face on her wedding day. From Buffy The Vampire Slayer to Charmed, the culinary team of Joan Spitler and Leigh Grode, better known as The Cake Divas, have made a number of confections for the small screen. When viewers tuned to to watch Trista and Ryan’s wedding reception, they saw the couple cut slices of a seven-tiered creation accented with over 1,000 sugar roses and cherry blossoms, People magazine reported back in December 2003.

Symbolizing a love without end, Trista wears two wedding bands — a 1.35-carat eternity band and a 2-carat band adorned with round-cut, pave-set diamonds, both from Tacori.
