60208: Actor George Takei Chooses Wedding Venue

While the crew of the starship Enterprise explored new life and new civilizations throughout the galaxy, actor George Takei has revealed that his wedding day will be an exploration of the earth’s diverse cultures. On September 14, 2008, Leonard Nimoy and his wife will be among the guests to gather at the Japanese American National Museum in the Little Tokyo section of Los Angeles, which will echo with the sounds of bagpipes before the sci-fi icon and his love of the past 21 years Brad Altman, both stylishly attired in white tuxedos, exchange wedding bands created of Native American turquoise and silver, People magazine reports.

Following the nuptials, the newlyweds will spent their first hours as loving husbands dining with friends (including fellow former Star Trek cast members Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols, who will act as best man and matron of honor during the ceremony) on a feast of Japanese and Mexican fare before embarking on a month-long honeymoon in South America.
