Currently on tour, indie artist M.I.A. (real name Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam) recently professed to her fans that she has another reason to feel like singing after accepting a marriage proposal from Benjamin Brewer, a co-founder of the group The Exit. According to Sun Media, the bride-to-be, whose 2007 CD “Kala” was deemed Album of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine, made the announcement on stage at the Edmonton Event Centre on May 27, 2008.
Plans for the couple’s impending I do’s have not been made public.
