52208: Gwyneth Paltrow in The Eternal City

Gazing down from a stone monument which guards over Rome’s Piazza Campo de’ Fiori, the ever-watchful eyes of the 16th century philosopher Giordano Bruno bore witness on May 8, 2008 as production assistants made last minute preparations for statuesque silver screen beauty Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance in an ad for the Italian brand Tods. Walking in a pair of high-rise heels, the Academy Award winner’s footsteps echoed on the piazza’s cobblestones which lead to an open air market, where six days a week locals and tourists alike can purchase produce and bouquets of blossoms– fragrant reminders of the days long ago, when the area was a field of flowers (hence the name Campo de’ Fiori).

Currently riding high on the box office success of Iron Man, People magazine online reports that the Academy Award winner had also donned a pair of seductive stilettos in the Eternal City the day before, looking red carpet ready in a curvaceous creation by Herve Leroux (formerly known as Herve Leger).
