The neo-gothic glamour of The Angel Orensanz Foundation Center for the Arts in New York City provided a stylish setting recently for burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese, who was the toast of the town after her titillating tribute to the famed French liqueur, Cointreau. Over 500 famous faces, including Sex and the City hunk Jason Lewis, actress/designer Tara Subkoff and French-born fashionista Catherine Maladrino looked on as the stiletto-wearing star strolled on stage, every alabaster inch a vintage Vargas vision in a flurry of feathers and a 350,000 Swarovski crystal costume designed by bosom burlesque buddy, Catherine D’Lish.
As much a celebration of the feminine mystique as a naughty, nostalgic wink to the peep shows of the past, the “Be Cointreauversial Show” climaxed as Von Teese took a sip of the newly-christened Cointreau Teese cocktail, Cointreau’s latest liqueur.
