While Kristy Lee Cook's rendition of Mariah Carey's "Forever" may not have been a hit with the judges on American Idol, the sentimental lyrics certainly struck a chord with the singer's beau, Andrew Dobner, who knelt and asked the budding performer to be his bride on April 16, 2008. The ousted contestant later admitted that the couple had kept news of the original proposal, which took place in a sauna on March 15th, a cherished secret.According to Entertainment Tonight, the seventh place finalist is now sporting a marquis cut diamond engagement ring, purchased at King Jewelers. Although still mulling over potential "I do" dates, the Selma, Oregon-born songstress confided that she might walk down the aisle in June 2009.

Congratulations to Christy Lee (not "Kathy Lee") Cook from American Idol on her engagement. I wish the very best in love and life for her. I really hope that she has the opportunity to have success in Nashville as other AI finalists such as Kelli Pickler, Josh Gracin, and Bucky Covington have had. She is a good country based vocalist and deserves a chance.
