Actress Jennifer Aniston, currently in front of the cameras in Canada filming the 2008 drama Traveling, let her taste buds enjoy an epicurean odyssey recently as she celebrated her 39th birthday at Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill, US magazine online reports. Dining with a coterie of chums, the former Friends star scanned a menu selection featuring such enticing items as rare seared Ahi tuna, tonnarelli with King crab and organic goat cheese and lobster bisque with Pacific crab remoulade before topping off her meal with slices of a birthday cake. Since opening in 1999, the Vancouver venue has become accustomed to the sight of celebrities walking through the front door. Past patrons spotted at the restaurant include crooners Sarah McLachlan, Elvis Costello and Diana Krall.
Special events are often held in Ciopinno’s Mediterranean Grill’s wine room– home to some of the 2,000 bottles of vintage beverages at the venue. The restaurant welcomes customers for dinner each Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Those inspired by chef Giuseppe Posteraro’s gastronomic treats can buy Cioppino’s–A Lifetime of Excellence in the Kitchen, which contains several recipes.
