14708: Olympic Pairs Skaters Engaged

A silver medal victory has led to the promise of a band of gold for Olympic figure skating pair John Baldwin and Rena Inoue. Both the audience at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota and millions of television viewers at home watching the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on January 26, 2008 were witnesses as the prospective groom, still on the ice after the couple completed their free style routine, knelt on one knee and asked for his partner's hand in marriage. A performing pair since 2000, the duo skated around their growing feelings for each other for over two years before becoming an item. A wedding date has not been announced.
