Like the title of her 1990 hit single “Me Abraca e Me Beija,” Brazilian singer Margareth Menezes was embraced and kissed by her love Robson Costa when the couple were pronounced husband and wife on January 19, 2008 in the Centro Espírita Beneficente Uniao do Vegetal in Lauro de Freitas, Salvador, Brazil. Clutching a bouquet of orange blossoms, the Grammy-nominated entertainer held on to her brother’s arm as she was escorted down the aisle in a cream-hued creation of silk, tulle and French lace by Leticia Bronstein Pompeu, who not only designed the delicate pattern of roses on the gown’s skirt, but also sewed the names of 20 of the bride’s closest friends on the garment’s train.

The angelic voices of children serenaded the bride as she made her way toward a bamboo arbor festooned with orchids, where her groom, who wore a dove grey suit for the occasion, waited to present her with a yellow gold wedding band. Following the nuptials, the newlyweds cut slices of a 5-tier wedding cake for their guests, who dined on such elegant entrees as filet tamarindo and lamb with couscous, while the little ones who sang at the ceremony enjoyed a feast of pizza, hot dogs and popcorn, R2cpress reports.
