60507: Skeet Ulrich filming in Louisiana
Fans of the CBS drama "Jericho" who are currently mailing nuts to the network in protest over the program's recent cancellation can take comfort in the fact that they can soon see actor Skeet Ulrich, the show's leading man, on the silver screen in the upcoming thriller, "For Sale By Owner." Scenes for the indie flick, which co-stars Kris Kristofferson, actress Rachel Nichols, who played a prominent role in the final season of "Alias," and Frankie Faison from "The Wire" were recently lensed at Magnolia Plantation, a refined 27-room, two and one-half story structure near Natchitoches which looks out upon a former slave village. Visitors wishing to promenade through the past can take a closer look at the main mansion on a guided tour offered by an ancestor of the plantation's original owners, then explore the sorrow-filled side of the South's history with a closer look at the plantation complex, including a blacksmith shop, slave hospital and a gin barn, all of which is preserved by the Cane River Creole National Historic Park.
The film's production marks a return to Natchitoches for actor Tom Skerritt, who starred in the 1989 tear-jerker "Steel Magnolias" alongside Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, and Julia Roberts, in one of her first onscreen appearances. Movie buffs looking to experience a little Tinseltown magic during a stay in Natchitoches can book "The Shelby Room" at the Steel Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast, where America's favorite Pretty Woman filmed several scenes.

UPDATE: Although engaged to another earlier this year, MTV News reports that Gerard Way, lead vocalist of My Chemical Romance, walked down the aisle with Lyn Z, bassist for Mindless Self Indulgence, over the Labor Day 2007 weekend. The couple spoke their wedding vows at Coors Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. Lovetripper will post more information when it becomes available.
