053007: Wedding of Soccer Star Alessandro Nesta
Celebrating two happy events in one day, Italian soccer star Alessandro Nesta and Gabriela Pagnozzi, his love of the past nine years, invited a small group of family and friends on May 30, 2007 to the Chiesa di San Francesco in the small town of Ravello, which overlooks the Amalfi Coast, to witness both the christening of their child and the holy blessing of their union. Seven month-old Sofia, the couple's daughter, listened to the violin and organ music which echoed inside the orchid-filled house of worship as her mother, dressed in a white, strapless gown designed with a full skirt and long train, pledged her devotion to the A.C. Milan central defender, who donned a classic dark suit for the occasion.
Before heading to a buffet reception set for 60 guests, the bride and groom made their exit from the chapel, and the rice which showered down upon the couple seemed to christen their new life together as husband and wife.

Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") and
Courtney Ford, who announced in August 2006 that they will tie the knot, may have picked up a few ideas for their own impending nuptials when a wedding scene for "Lie To Me," the upcoming dramedy in which both will star, was recently filmed at The Elms Resort and Spa. The pride of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the limestone-constructed landmark's guests have run the gamut over the years, ranging from the illustrious, such as Presidents Harry S. Truman and Franklin D. Roosevelt, to the infamous, which was the case when "Pretty Boy" Floyd and Al Capone frequented the retreat during the Prohibition era.
The indie flick, which will co-star actor Steve Sandvoss and Nick Wechsler, who is best remembered by sci-fi fans as budding Buddhist Kyle Valenti in the series "Roswell," will also feature scenes shot at Kansas City's Nelson Atkins Museum, where masterpieces by Monet, Gauguin and Goya have found a home among the venue's 33,500 works of art.

Actress Ana Ortiz, who has been wearing a cushion-cut diamond engagement ring since November 2006, and her soon-to-be husband Noah Lebenzon celebrated their upcoming wedding with combined bachelor and bachelorette parties on May 24, 2007. Actress Sprague Grayden, a star of the recently cancelled CBS drama "Jericho," and the bride-to-be's "Ugly Betty" co-star Kevin Sussman were among the 30 guests who were invited to a Sin City soiree held at The Venetian Hotel. Festivities began in a cabana at TAO Beach, followed by dinner at TAO Asian Bistro. The couple, who will dance their first dance as husband and wife on June 9, 2007 after a ceremony in Puerto Rico, swayed to the music later that evening at TAO Nightclub.

As Dr. Gregory Pratt on the long-running NBC drama "ER," Mekhi Phifer has checked the pulse of numerous patients. In real life, however, it's director's assistant Oni Souratha who makes the actor's heart race, and on May 9, 2007 the TV star asked his love to be his wife during a romantic vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. OK! Magazine reported that the prospective groom presented his bride-to-be with a micro pave band crowned with a 2.65-carat diamond solitaire, with was custom made to the actor's specifications by Jason of Beverly Hills. The couple have not announced a wedding date.

Lisa Ling, the host of "National Geographic Explorer," embarked on the adventure of a lifetime when she said "I do" to radiation oncologist Paul Song on May 26, 2007. According to People magazine, "Numb3rs" star Diane Farr, who tied the knot in June 2006, and Kelly Hu ("The Scorpion King") were among the 550 guests who gathered at Union Station, a 1930's Los Angeles landmark seen on the silver screen in "Blade Runner" and "Bugsy," to witness the bride walk down the aisle in a crimson creation by New York-based designer Vivienne Tam. The couple, who became engaged over the Christmas 2006 holidays during a romantic dinner at Chicago's Charlie Trotter's restaurant, enjoyed a wedding filled with Asian accents, which will be featured in an upcoming issue of In Style Magazine, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Reality television personalities Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are making plans for a dream wedding. US magazine reported that the couple's relationship, which blossomed in front of millions of MTV viewers on "The Hills," led to a proposal on May 22, 2007, when Pratt presented the event planner with an engagement ring, the featured pink stone set on a diamond-accented platinum band. The prospective groom chose the Spanish Colonial-style Bacara Resort and Spa, the Santa Barbara sanctuary where fellow MTV couple Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler exchanged vows, as the locale to ask for the hand of his love of the past eight months. The couple have not announced when they will walk down the aisle.

On May 7, 2007 stars of South Korea's silver screen, including Jung Joon-ho and Kim Min-jong, gathered at Seoul's Imperial Palace Hotel to witness the union of television actor Yoon Da Hoon and his love, Nam Eun-jong. Standing beneath the glow of illuminated chandeliers, the bride was an ethereal vision in a white gown accented with capped illusion sleeves as she exchanged vows with the groom, who wore a classic black tuxedo and black bow tie for the occasion.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds embarked on a 20-day honeymoon tour of the United States.

From Antigua to Sri Lanka, Roger Taylor has traveled the globe during his years as the drummer for the iconic '80's band Duran Duran. When the time arrived to choose the locale for his May 12, 2007 wedding to Gisella Bernales, his love since 2005, it seemed only fitting that the musician opted for the equally exotic Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Taylor's band mates Simon Le Bon, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes were among the reported 60 guests invited to Jalousie Plantation, a 65 villa, 35 villa suites sanctuary surrounded by the verdant beauty of the Piton Mountains. Making the wedding a family affair, both the bride's sisters and the groom's daughter walked down the aisle as bridesmaids before the bride made her entrance in a white Vera Wang creation. In harmony with his bride, the groom wore a white Giorgio Armani suit for the occasion.

May 2007-- Actor Ernesto Laguardia, the star of such popular telenovelas as "Mi Querida Isabel," "Amor Real" and "Alondra," became the leading man in the life of Patricia Rodriguez when the couple exchanged vows in mid-May 2007 at the Rancho Avandaro Country Club in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Clutching a bouquet of pastel roses, the hem of the bride's ballroom skirt gently brushed the floor as she walked down the aisle in a white, strapless wedding dress, its beauty enhanced by the addition of a chapel-length veil. Following the civil ceremony, which was witnessed by approximately 40 guests, the groom and his new bride, who are awaiting the arrival of a baby in November, stopped to greet members of the press before departing on their honeymoon.

Harisu Weds in Seoul
"And what love can do, that dares love attempt." The immortal words of William Shakespeare rang true centuries later as South Korean transsexual entertainer Harisu donned a strapless white wedding dress, tiara and a pair of dainty white gloves and walked down the aisle at Millennium Hall in Central City, Seocho-gu, Seoul to say "I do" to rapper Mickey Jung. The surgeon who helped the singer/actress, who was born Lee Kyung-yup, realize her dream of becoming a woman, made another of the star's dreams come true as he officiated over the May 19, 2007 ceremony.
Following the nuptials, the newlyweds embarked on a honeymoon on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.

Amy Winehouse Weds in Miami
While a statement denying that she would wed over the weekend was making its way across the internet, singer Amy Winehouse donned a flower-print dress and walked into the Miami-Dade County marriage license bureau on the morning of May 18, 2007 to wed her love of the past two years, Blake Fielder-Civil.
In the presence of six witnesses, the retro rebel, who bears a tattoo of her beloved's name emblazoned over her heart, placed a wedding band on her new husband's finger.
Following the simple ceremony, the singer's Tiffany engagement ring, which she has worn since late April, sparkled on her hand as the newlyweds enjoyed a breakfast at Miami's Big Pink Diner before heading back to the Shore Club Hotel, a 307-room, 70-suite South Beach sanctuary where the twosome toasted their happiness with piña coladas by the hotel's infinity-edge pool.

Jennifer Peña Announces Engagement
May 2007-- Latin recording artist Jennifer Peña announced to her fans in late April that she is embarking on a new stage in her life. The Grammy-nominated singer, who recently released her CD "Dicen Que El Tiempo," is currently preparing for both a wedding to her love, Latin Grammy winner Obie Bermudez, and the arrival of their first child.
The couple, who have stated that a date has already been set for the nuptials, will exchange vows in an intimate ceremony in the presence of close family and friends.

Bif Naked Plans Vancouver Wedding
May 2007-- The start of a new life was literally handed to punk singer Bif Naked (aka Beth Torbert) on a silver platter recently when sports reporter Ian Walker set a blue box containing an engagement ring on to a silver tray during the dessert portion of a romantic repast.
The couple, whose love story began at BodogFight, a mixed martial arts tournament co-hosted by the punk singer, are currently planning to exchange vows in Vancouver in the autumn of 2007.

Kate Walsh Announces Engagement
May 2007-- While promoting the upcoming spin-off series "Private Practice," "Grey's Anatomy" star Kate Walsh made the public announcement that she will walk down the aisle with FOX studio executive Alex Young.
Now sporting a Jubilee-cut diamond Neil Lane engagement ring, which the actress received during a San Francisco getaway, Ms. Walsh follows in the footsteps of her fellow "Grey's Anatomy" cast mates Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo. Heigl wears a 3-carat, pear-shaped diamond engagement ring presented to her by singer Josh Kelley in June 2006. Ellen Pompeo had a 3.5-carat, emerald cut Tacori engagement ring slipped on to her finger in November 2006 by her love, Chris Ivery.
