0100907: Duchess of Alba Attends Wedding in Spain
As the clock struck noon on October 7, 2007, Alejandra Canicoba began her walk down the aisle of Nuestra Senora de la Merced in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain toward her love of the past 14 years, Jesús Soto. Guests inside the house of worship, the Duchess of Alba among them, smiled at the bride as she walked past in a white body-conscious creation designed with three-quarter lace sleeves and cascades of ruffles along the skirt's hemline.Following the exchange of vows, a shower of red rose petals greeted the newlyweds, the fragrant floral fragments clinging to the bride's elbow-length veil and her bouquet of white flowers as she posed for photos before setting out with the groom for their wedding reception. According to Diario de Jerez, the happy couple began their life together as husband and wife with a honeymoon excursion to Italy and France.
