90607: Snow Patrol's Drummer Engaged
Jonny Quinn, who set hearts racing by providing the backbeat for Snow Patrol's romantic pop ballad "Chasing Cars," made girlfriend Mariane Rokke's heart skip a beat when he proposed on September 1, 2007. The Belfast Telegraph reports that the musician wrote "Marry Me Mariane" on his drums, a sign which was read by a crowd of 30,000 as an image of the drums was shown on a big screen during the band's encore at Ward Park in Bangor, North Ireland. The couple, whose love story fittingly began back in 2005 in Austin, Texas, a city dubbed the Live Music Capital of the World, will say "I do" in the summer of 2008 in a wedding ceremony held in the bride-to-be's homeland, Norway.Labels: Celebrity engagements
