092707: Looking Back at Jennie Garth's 2001 Wedding
As former "Beverly Hills 90210" cast member Jennie Garth sambas across the stage in the fifth season of "Dancing With The Stars," find out what song she and husband Peter Facinelli chose for their first dance together as Mr. and Mrs. as we take a look back at their 2001 nuptials:As the strains of Pachelbel's Canon in D Major echoed inside Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Montecito, California, 210 guests rose from the church's wooden pews in honor of actress Jennie Garth, whose cathedral-length veil gently swept the aisle runner as she made her walk to the altar in an off-the-shoulder, ivory silk gown with silver embroidered accents by designer Reem Acra. The bride clutched a bouquet of crimson roses which mirrored the deep saturated red hue of the Lazaro dresses worn by her bridesmaids (which included Tori Spelling and Tiffani Thiessen), who waited for her at the end of the aisle along with her husband-to-be, Peter Facinelli, who donned a black Armani tuxedo for the occasion. Wearing an angelic white dress created with capped sleeves by Reem Acra, little Luca Bella, the couple's young daughter and flower girl for their wedding, looked on as her mother and father's union was blessed.
Following the January 20, 2001 ceremony, the newlyweds exited the pueblo revival-style chapel and drove to the Bacara Resort and Spa, the Santa Barbara sanctuary where season one "Dancing With the Stars" contestant John O'Hurley would say "I do" to Lisa Mesloh in 2004. While family and friends, including "Beverly Hills 90210" stars Jason Priestley and Ian Ziering looked on, the newly-dubbed husband and wife swayed to the music of Sade's "By Your Side," followed by a candlelight dinner of chicken breasts, prawns and risotto. For dessert, the bride and groom fed each other slices of a five-tier, rose-covered wedding cake-- a moment which was captured for posterity by InStyle magazine, which covered the event.
