On September 8, 2007, flower girls in white dresses accented with striped sashes held ribbon adorned baskets as they walked down down the aisle of Bad Berleburg’s church in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, the wreaths of red rose buds and baby’s breath resting on their heads giving the girls an angelic appearance in the eyes of the 200 guests on hand to witness the religious blessing of Princess Vanessa of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Pieter Haitsma Mulier. The bride’s diaphanous veil swept the red carpet pathway as she made her way to the altar in a white wedding dress paired with a romantic lace duster designed with frills about the neck and three-quarter sleeves. The princess clutched a bouquet composed of white and red roses interspersed with greenery which harmonized with the groom’s rose bud and greenery boutonniere on his black morning jacket, which he wore along with striped trousers and a butter yellow vest.
