80107: Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters Engaged
An eight-year romance has led to the promise of a lifetime together for Scissor Sisters lead singer Jake Shears and his beau, Chris. According to the Sunday Mirror, pop sensation Kylie Minogue, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell, and David Walliams and Matt Lucas of the BBC comedy "Little Britain" will be among those to receive an invitation to a New York wedding, which will be conducted following a legalization of their union in New Jersey. The vocalist behind the number one retro-tinged hit "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" is currently making plans for a spring 2008 ceremony, when he will say "I do" to his love amid the arrangements of tulips and daffodils which will help to make his dream wedding complete.Labels: Celebrity engagements

Jake and his partner, Chris, are both wonderful people. They are both smart, artistic and have huge hearts. Their love and commitment are real and they deserve all the happiness in the world. Certainly as much as anyone who would seek to deny them that. I'm sure I am not on the invitation list, but wish them both great things!
