In the weeks leading up to their scheduled September walk down the aisle, E! News co-host Giuliana DePandi and her fiance, reality TV personality Bill Rancic, took time to unwind at the St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach, a 400 guestroom retreat in Dana Point, California featuring an Italian-inspired facade that inspires romance. According to People magazine, the Tinseltown twosome booked a Swedish couples massage during their stay, which was administered by the healing hands of Spa Gaucin’s technicians.
The mid-August mini-vacation for the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. followed an April outing which was chronicled in the summer 2007 edition of InStyle Weddings. Cruising along the California coastline, the couple posed for posterity at several offbeat landmarks, including Pismo Beach’s giant clam sculpture and Bubble Gum Alley in Saint Luis Obispo, where the pair added their own wads of the chewy confection to the famed wall for a memory that will stick in their minds for a lifetime. During their travels, the couple checked in to such stylish sanctuaries as the Hotel Andalucia, a 5-story boutique retreat in Santa Barbara which offers its patrons views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, and the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, where the famous Magneta Grandfather clock which stands in the lobby has marked the moments for guests since 1907.
Giuliana DePandi is not the only E! correspondent to hear wedding bells in 2007. “Veronica Mars” star Kristen Bell, Masi Oka from the NBC hit “Heroes” and “Lost”‘s Daniel Dae Kim were among the guests who received invitations to the wedding of E!’s resident TV expert Kristen Veitch, who donned a strapless Monique Lhuillier gown on July 14, 2007 and exchanged vows with Joao Dos Santos in a San Diego ceremony. Ted Casablanca, the channel’s gossip guru, has also announced that he will walk down the aisle. Casablanca’s boyfriend, Jon Powell, asked for the columnist’s hand in marriage during a springtime 2007 Hawaiian holiday.
