70407: Katherine Heigl Filming in Central Park

The swans and ducks that glide along the lake in Central Park got a bird’s eye view as Katherine Heigl and Edward Burns filmed a scene on July 3, 2007 for the upcoming romantic comedy “27 Dresses” at The Boathouse Restaurant, where the clink of patrons’ glasses as they enjoy a their meal mingle with tunes sung by gondoliers as couples are ferried across the waters in Venetian-style gondolas. Built in 1874 by architect Calvert Vaux, the popular Manhattan meeting place also offers diners a chance to explore Central Park in a rented rowboat or on bicycles following a romantic repast.

Seen in “The Great Gatsby” alongside Robert Redford and “High Society” with Grace Kelly, Rosecliff mansion in Newport will also share the spotlight with bride-to-be Heigl when “27 Dresses” comes to theaters in January 2008.
