Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon, better known to Harry Potter fans as Professor Trelawney and Albus Dumbledore, temporarily traded the fictional facade of Hogwarts Castle for the elegant exterior of Castle Howard when filming of “Brideshead Revisited” commenced on June 4, 2007. The stately Yorkshire home, which was also used as a filming locale for the 1981 small screen version of Evelyn Waugh’s novel, welcomes approximately 200,000 visitors through its door annually fom early March through early November, and again from mid-November though mid-December. For the duration of filming, which is scheduled to continue through July 7, 2007, the Academy Award-winning actress and BAFTA-winning actor, who are portraying Lord and Lady Marchmain in the movie, can enjoy strolling among the azaleas, roses and delphiniums blooming in the gardens on the 1,000 acre estate and marvel at the masterpieces by Canaletto and Rubens which hang on the walls of the English mansion’s Great Hall.
