53007: Brandon Routh Filming in Missouri

Real life lovebirds Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) and Courtney Ford, who announced in August 2006 that they will tie the knot, may have picked up a few ideas for their own impending nuptials when a wedding scene for “Lie To Me,” the upcoming dramedy in which both will star, was recently filmed at The Elms Resort and Spa. The pride of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the limestone-constructed landmark’s guests have run the gamut over the years, ranging from the illustrious, such as Presidents Harry S. Truman and Franklin D. Roosevelt, to the infamous, which was the case when “Pretty Boy” Floyd and Al Capone frequented the retreat during the Prohibition era.

The indie flick, which will co-star actor Steve Sandvoss and Nick Wechsler, who is best remembered by sci-fi fans as budding Buddhist Kyle Valenti in the series “Roswell,” will also feature scenes shot at Kansas City’s Nelson Atkins Museum, where masterpieces by Monet, Gauguin and Goya have found a home among the venue’s 33,500 works of art.
