Celebrity engagement rings
by Grace Sydney
The world's most talked about engagements and weddings
have also featured the most talked about rings. Read about the stunners
that lit up the left hands of these Hollywood brides and brides-to-be.
Christina Aguilera -- This pop sensation's true
love knows "what a girl wants"-- a 5-carat diamond ring designed
by jeweler Stephen Webster, who also created the wedding bands for Madonna
and her husband, Guy Ritchie.
Pamela Anderson -- Unlike most Hollywood brides
who choose platinum rings, the former Baywatch babe opted for a yellow
gold band topped with a 4-carat round solitaire.
Victoria Beckham -- Boodle & Dunthorne have
created "posh" jewelry since 1798, and soccer star David Beckham
chose the company to design a 3-carat marquise-cut diamond embraced with
a trillion on either side for the former Spice Girl.
Mary J. Blige -- Jacob & Co., provider of luxury
timepieces for such A-list celebrities as Jessica Simpson and David Beckham,
supplied the R & B singer's platinum engagement ring, which is embellished
with a 5-carat round cut diamond surrounded by a row of baguette diamonds.
Christine Baumgartner -- Kevin Costner's love of
the outdoors is evident by the ring he chose for his wife-- a 5-carat
square diamond with interwoven bands fashioned in a leaf pattern.
Brandy -- Jeweler Jason Arasheben completed the 11.5-carat ring
only thirty minutes before fiance Quentin Richardson slipped the $1 million
dollar dazzler on to the singer's finger.
Kimberley Buffington -- Austin, Texas is a second
home to actor Dennis Quaid as well as the hometown of his bride, so it
seemed appropriate that jewelers from the capital city would design the
rings which would bind their union. The couple chose Anthony Camargo and
David Nakard Armstrong of Anthony Nak to construct a platinum band, accented
with pave diamonds, upon which a rare triangular-shaped canary diamond
from South Africa rests.
Toni Braxton -- To represent their love, this soulful
singer wears a 4.5 carat oval diamond framed on either side by two heart-shaped
diamonds.
Joan Collins -- A hopeless romantic, the "Dynasty"
diva wears a heart-shaped diamond ring from jeweler Fred Leighton.
Courteney Cox -- The number eight is lucky for Courtney's
husband David Arquette, and when the actor proposed in September 1998
beneath a fireworks display which lit up the Panama City, Florida sky
he slipped a vintage ring from Neil Lane with two round diamonds in the
shape of an eight on to the fourth finger of the "Friends" star's
left hand.
Mariska Hargitay -- Actor Peter Hermann got down
on bended knee to present his love with a platinum ring composed of nine
round diamonds by New York-based designer Karen Karch.
