Lavigne, whose fusion of pop and punk has propelled her to
the top of the Billboard charts, has announced her engagement
to Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley. A long term friendship
ripened into love in 2004, leading the prospective groom to
pop the question in Europe before the North American leg of
Avril's concert tour. The couple's "Happy Ending"
has yet to be scheduled.
