Our Visit to Fiesta Texas

Saturday we had the opportunity to visit San Antonio’s Six Flags Fiesta Texas as part of a special bloggers’ day. We were at the park with about half a dozen other bloggers, most from Texas family and frugal living websites. We’ll be working on an article for Lovetripper about planning a date night (or day) in your local theme park but first we wanted to share some photos from our day.

We were a little worried about the weather for our visit; a tropical system had been flooding Laredo (basically the next city west of San Antonio) and the Rio Grande Valley earlier in the week…but the system moved on through and we had mostly sunny skies for our day at the park.

Through the day we enjoyed rides (OK, we’re wimps about the thrill rides but we enjoyed a romantic ride on the Ferris wheel and plenty of other rides), shows, strolling the park, photographing the attractions (over 500 photos during the day!) and dining (and recharging with old-fashioned shakes, too).

If the two of you would like to enter for a chance to win a three-night getaway in San Antonio, the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau will be giving away two trips as part of its Heart and Sol 2010 Summer Getaway. The deadline for entering is the end of the month; for details on the giveaway, check out this article on our TexasTripper.com site!

Disclaimer: Our day at Six Flags Fiesta Texas was courtesy of the San Antonio CVB and Six Flags Fiesta Texas as part of the Summer 2010 campaign for the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau; we received park tickets, meal vouchers, and a parking voucher but no monetary compensation.
