North Carolina Marriage Licenses

Paperwork: be sure to carry along the following documentataion when applying for your North Carolina marriage license. (Airline travelers, be sure to pack this documentation in your carry-on bag, not in checked luggage!)

* driver's license, valid military ID, valid passport, state-issued ID, or certified copy of birth certificate (if you are under age 21, you must bring along the certified birth certificate)

• Social Security numbers

• Must know the month and year of last divorce, if applicable. If divorced within the past 60 days, must present the signed divorce decree.

Residency Requirement: You do not have to be a resident of North Carolina.

Waiting Period: None

Blood Tests: None

Witnesses: You must have two witnesses to your marriage.
