Connecticut Marriage Regulations

Applications and/or Documents Required: Marriage licenses are issued by municipalities in Connecticut. Bring along original copies of the following (and be sure pack these in your hand luggage, never in your checked bags):

• identification (This can be a passport, visa, military ID card, driver's license, birth certificate or state ID card.)

• Social Security cards

• proof of divorce isn't required but you will need to swear that you are providing all information on prior marriages

Waiting Period: none --but read on for detailed medical information you'll need to obtain before the marriage license

Blood Test: For years, Connecticut had very complicated premarital certificate rules; this was recently repealed. For information on the new law, see http://www.dph.state.ct.us/Laboratory/bloodt.htm. A blood test is no longer required.
