Getting married on St. Kitts or Nevis is a simple feat. Residency Requirment:
Either the bride or groom must be a resident of the island
for 48 hours prior to the wedding. (But we think its a lot
more fun if youre both there!) If theres a weekend
involved, youd better plan on an extra day. Paperwork Requirements:
Bring along a valid passport and certified birth certificate and,
if either party is divorced, present an absolute decree of divorce.
If either the bride or groom is widowed, a death certificate is
necessary. (If the documents are not in English, a notarized translation
must be presented.) Church Weddings:
To be married by a Catholic priest, you must bring a letter
from your resident priest verifying that you are unmarried and
have received necessary instruction. To be married by an Anglican
minister, bring a letter from your minister verifying that you
are unmarried. Cost: The marriage license fee is $200 EC (or $80 US). If you have enjoyed a pre-honeymoon trip on St. Kitts or Nevis for at least 15 days prior to the marriage, the fee goes down to $50 EC or $20 US. Related
