How to Get Married in Yukon

In Yukon, couples can choose a religious or civil ceremony. Either type of ceremony must be witnessed by two people.

Applications and/or Documents Required: Bring along original copies of the following (and be sure pack these in your hand luggage, never in your checked bags):

Certified Birth Certificate

Photo ID such as Drivers License or passport

Proof of address

Proof of marital status

If previously married, a certified copy of the final divorce decree, or death certificate if marriage ended due to death of spouse.

You should apply in person to the Marriage License Issuer in the community in which you plan to get married.

Waiting Period: 24 hours

Blood Test: none
