How to Get Married in Ontario If you are getting
married in Ontario, you can have a civil marriage or a religious
marriage. Applications and/or Documents Required: Bring along original copies of the following (and be sure pack these in your hand luggage, never in your checked bags):
A marriage license
can be obtained from the clerk of most cities, townships, towns
or villages (Marriage License Issuers). In some cases, depending on the denomination, you may not need a marriage license. The marriage may be solemnized under the authority of the publication of banns.
