How to Get Married in Manitoba

In Manitoba, you can choose either a religious or a civil ceremony. The marriage ceremony may take place anywhere in Manitoba--a church, a hotel, park, or private home. You will need at least two witnesses present.

Applications and/or Documents Required: Bring along original copies of the following (and be sure pack these in your hand luggage, never in your checked bags):

Birth Certificate

Passport

If previously married, a certified copy of the final divorce decree, or in case of death of spouse, bring a death certificate or newspaper clipping

Waiting Period: 24 hours

Blood Test: none
