How to Get Married in Bonaire


Paperwork Requirements: At least two months before your intended wedding date, write the Governor of Bonaire to ask for permission to marry on the island.

Along with the letter, send the following:

  • 3 passport photos each of bride and groom
  • copies of passports and birth certificates
  • proof of good conduct and proof of eligibility to marry such as divorce papers, death certificates, proof of single status, such as a letter from a parent or pastor.

Cost: US $150

Waiting Period: 1 week either bride or groom, or both.
