Reception Venues Near Graceland
The most famous voice of Tennessee is that
of Elvis Presley and, for many couples, a visit to Memphis is not complete
without a tour of Graceland, once home to the town's most famous resident.
Since its doors opened to the public in 1982, fans have strolled among
the opulent hallways of the two-story mansion, passing through the gates
decorated with musical notes and the figure of a man playing a guitar.
Although Elvis Presleys famous home is open for guided tours, it
is not available for private functions including weddings and receptions.
Several other nearby sites are available for themed functions, however,
including Rockabillys Diner, a 50s style diner for up to
65 guests, and the ticket pavilion, a guest services center transformed
at night into a function space with views of the mansion for up to 300
reception style.
Would you like to get married at Graceland? You can't get married in Elvis'
home but you can say "I do" at the Graceland Mansion Chapel
in the Woods, located adjacent to the famous house. The chapel will
accommodate up to 50 guests and has special touches to remind you of its
location. You'll exchange vows in front of a stained glass window that's
a replica of the stained glass transom over Graceland's front door. If
conditions permit, you and up to six of your guests can have wedding photos
made on the front steps of Graceland following the ceremony. For more
information, see www.elvis.com/graceland/chapel
Leaving the house, visitors head to the Elvis Presley
Automobile Museum. This venue is available for group rentals and can
be used by 80 attendees at a seated function or by 250 delegates at a
cocktail reception. The museums "drive in" area features
a full-screen television showcasing "The King" and that screen
is used by many groups for video presentations.
