Did you know that passports are now required for US travelers returning by air from the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and other destinations? (Cruise passengers will have probably another year to obtain passports.) It’s not that the islands require a passport for entry (a few do but most do not) but the US State Department now requires a passport for you to return home.

If you don’t have a passport, now’s the time to do so! It’s much easier to travel with a passport than with a birth certificate anyway (plus you get the neat passport stamps!) Start the process early so you don’t have to pay extra fees to have the passport expedited.
