FAQ: Condominiums & Villa Honeymoons

Your own villa or condo can give your honeymoon a real home-away-from-home type of feeling. Before booking, though, be sure to ask these questions:

Is the property located far enough from town that we’ll need to rent a car for our stay?

Is there a grocery store nearby?

Is maid service complimentary?
Some properties charge for maid service or offer complimentary weekly cleaning with guests paying for more frequent service.

How often is maid service provided?
Some condominiums offer weekly cleaning; check with yours.

Is cook service available?
At some destinations such as Jamaica, it is common for villas to include the services of a cook. Other destinations typically offer cook services at an extra charge. You might like cook service for a few nights and not others.

Can we fax a list of groceries we would like to have stocked?
After a long flight, it can be a real treat to see some of your favorite beverages and snacks already stocked and waiting for you.

May we go into town to shop with the cook?
Going to the local market and shopping with the cook for the night’s dinner ingredients can be as exciting as a museum visit or a local tour. Check out the local spices, fruits, and vegetables and learn a recipe or two to take back and try at home.

Is there a restaurant nearby?

What tip is traditional for different staff members?

In case the owners should decide to use their condo at the time of our stay, what substitution will be made for us?
