FAQ: Questions About All-Inclusive Resorts
Considering the convenience of a one-price-pays-all
package? All-inclusives can be a great option for honeymooners but check
on these questions before booking!
Would we like the convenience of an all-inclusive resort?
Many couples like the convenience of an all-inclusive resort; one package
price pays for items usually ranging from tips and transfers to drinks,
meals, and activities. All-inclusives are a great option for honeymooners
lucky enough to be receiving the trip as a gift; youre free to live
like a king and queen once you arrive on property without ever looking
at your pocketbook again. For other couples, though, all-inclusives are
not a good option because they are aimed at travelers who plan to spend
most of their time on the resort property and take most of their meals
right at the resort.
What is your tipping policy?
Some all-inclusives prohibit tipping; check with yours.
Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfers can be a pricey item in some destinations; know if you
should expect to be picked up at the airport.
Are premium liquors included?
Is
wine served with dinner?
How many restaurants are on site?
What cuisines do they serve?
Is there wait service or are all meals served buffet style?
Is room service available?
What hours is room service available?
What watersports are included?
Are only non-motorized watersports part of the all-inclusive
package?
Are scuba lessons available?
Some beach properties offer full scuba certification; others offer "resort
courses" that permit non-divers to take a one-day poolside course
that ends with a shallow water dive.
Do you have honeymoon suites?
Do you have a dine around program?
Dine around programs offer couples the chance to get out and enjoy community
restaurants as part of their all-inclusive package. This is especially
nice if youre planning a long stay.
Is there late night dining?
While youre on the topic of late night dining, find out if there
is true late night dining (as in 24-hour room service) or if this means
snacks and drinks at one of the bars.
