Owned by Donna and Garrett Albertson, the inn offers plenty of extras ranging from sunset sails to wedding ceremonies performed by Garrett, an ordained Presbyterian Minister. Lovetripper recently spoke with Garrett about this special inn.

Describe your most romantic room.

Couples planning their special getaway at Theodosia's will often reserve one our rooms with a double-wide whirlpool tub. Our fourteen guest rooms all have water view and twelve of them have private porches or balconies. Each room has a king or queen bed and a TV/VCR. Our extensive video library has some wonderful romantic movies that couples may enjoy together. Couples will have the unique opportunity of being the only ones on long stretches of ocean beach where there are no houses visible and wonderful shells to collect. A sunset sail can be reserved on the two masted ketch,Whisper, which is docked in the marina in front of the inn. This is offered as part of a honeymoon package. A ride on one of the inns tandem bikes is a real togetherness adventure.

What are some of the most unique aspects of your property?

The island location of Theodosia's and the absense of private automobiles means there are no crowds and there is the wonderful experience of quiet tranquility everywhere on the island. The silent electric golf carts and scooters provided by the inn are part of the fun. "Old Baldy" is the oldest standing lighthouse in North Carolina and it can be climbed all the way up into the lectionary for a magnificient view of Cape Fear and the Frying Pan Shoals. Guests at Theodosia's have complimentary membership at the Bald Head Island country club and may play golf, tennis, and croquet. They may also dine in the club lounge or dining room and have free use of the pool.

What's a typical breakfast at your B&B?

Theodosia's has become widely known for their incredible full breakfast. A typical breakfast might include: a choice of seven juices, fruit plate, fresh baked pastry, Amish baked oatmeal, egg souffle, banana foster french toast, eggs Benedict, Belgian waffles or croissant french toast. There are twenty distinctive breakfast menues that have been perfected over the years.

What the best time of year to visit your property?

The inn is open year-round and there are honeymoons and getaway escapes by couples in every month of the year. In the cozy season of December-February it is nice to sit by the fireside or walk the beaches in a sweat suit. There is year-round golf on the island but the most popular times are April-October.

Do you host weddings at your property?

Theodosia's has been host to wedding ceremonies, reception dinners, bridal tea, rehearsal dinners, wedding brunches, and exquisite hors d'oeuvre buffet. The Bald Head Island Village chapel is a wonderful setting for wedding ceremonies. Dr. Garrett Albertson, Theodosia's owner/innkeeper performs weddings in the chapel , on the beach and in many other beautiful locations on the island.
